Some needs require more care than a small group can provide. This course teaches leaders to evaluate a member's situation with the S.O.S. tool (Severity, Ownership, Support) and decide whether to care for it in the group, consult their coach, or refer it to the church's soul care ministry. You will score realistic scenarios and practice making that decision.

The S.O.S. scale runs 1 to 10 per dimension, where 10 always means high risk
Scoring Severity: how bad the situation is right now
Scoring Ownership: how teachable the person is, where 10 means NOT teachable
Scoring Support: how much godly community surrounds the person and whether they use it

Section 2.2: Reading the Total: Thresholds and What They Mean

The escalation thresholds: 15, 18-24, and above 20-25
Severity is mitigated by teachability and support
