Walking in the Light: Confession Without Fear

Living the One Anothers

Confession is a normal part of the Christian life, and most of us were never taught how to do it. This course covers what to confess, to whom, and in how much detail, how to deal with conviction without spiraling into shame, and how to respond when a friend confesses something to you. Based on the T1 teaching on confession and restoration.

What You'll Work Through

Each unit is a conversation, not a page to read. The tutor asks you to explain, apply, and work with the material until it holds.

Chapter 1: Confessing to One Another

Section 1.1: What Confession Is and Is Not

  • Confession is first a vertical act to God
  • Confessing to one another adds counsel, accountability, and encouragement
  • Confession is not airing dirty laundry or telling war stories
  • Confession belongs in a gender-appropriate, godly-friends context

Section 1.2: Confessing Wisely and Well

  • Confession is vertical first, then horizontal
  • Confess clearly but not graphically, to the right audience
  • Confess sin patterns and heart attitudes, not only major sins

Chapter 2: Receiving Confession and Restoring Gently

Section 2.1: Responding When Someone Confesses to You

  • Support conviction without adding condemnation
  • Respond to confession with prayer, not curiosity or advice-fixing

Section 2.2: Restoring the One Caught in Sin

  • Restoring gently without presuming (Prov 18:17)
  • Watching yourself while restoring another (Gal 6:1)
