What You'll Work Through

Each unit is a conversation, not a page to read. The tutor asks you to explain, apply, and work with the material until it holds.

Chapter 1: Why You Cannot Lead Alone

Section 1.1: The Mandate to Multiply

  • 2 Timothy 2:2 as the biblical charge to entrust leadership to faithful others
  • Three biblical examples of leaders who multiplied: Moses, Paul, and Jesus
  • Multiplication is a pay-it-forward, not a breakup of authentic community
  • The small group as a leadership laboratory for developing apprentices

Chapter 2: Spotting the Next Leader

Section 2.1: Character Before Competence

  • Character is a prerequisite for leadership, not competence or capacity
  • Measure character before competence when selecting an apprentice (2 Timothy 2:2)
  • What growing character looks like: fruit of the Spirit and readiness to serve
  • The small group as the incubator for measuring character in real time

Chapter 3: Developing and Releasing

Section 3.1: Mentoring and Multiplying Well

  • Mentor an apprentice experientially through 'watch me, do it with me, let me watch you'
  • Debrief in real time using 'What? So What? Now What?'
  • Send a mature core with a new leader when multiplying a group
